How are my documents and information stored safely, and where?

All data is backed up with Firebase and is transported securely over HTTPS and encrypted according to their policies. MyBio.life utilises end-to-end encryption for security. These keys are backed up and maintained by Virgil Security according to their policies. A local, encrypted copy of all information is also stored on-device within the app’s secure container.

Can anyone access my information without my approval?

Due to the end-to-end encryption used, only people you assign as a Messenger can read your information. They cannot access your information to change anything. Even our IT team cannot read any of your information.

What is the Messenger’s role?

The Messenger is the nominated person to review the information and documentation stored in MyBio.life™ to carry out your wishes after your passing. The Messenger is usually a partner, close friend or family member. When you nominate your Messenger in the MyBio.life™ app, they receive an email requesting their approval to be your Messenger. Upon acceptance of the role, your Messenger can read the information stored in your app, however they are not able to change, delete or upload any information or documents.

Can the Messenger change my information or upload documents?

No, your Messenger does not have access or authority to change your information, upload or delete information or documents. Your Messenger is a trusted friend, loved one or family member you nominate to have read only access of your information to be reviewed to celebrate your life the way you intended.

Can I have more than one Messenger?

You certainly can. You can nominate as many Messengers as you like, just remember to advise them before they receive an email to accept the role. If you have more than one it is also important to tell them what their roles are.

What is the maximum size of any documents or videos I upload?

There is no limit, but for documents and videos please try and keep files under 100MB.

Can all the family download Mybio.life?

Yes, you can have an individual or family subscription to MyBio.life™ so everyone can organise their life at different stages of their life.

Does MyBio.life replace my current Will?

No MyBio.life™ is an app to store all your important life information and documents in the one place. This assists your loved ones and family members to have everything centrally stored. You still need to have your Will written and then uploaded to MyBio.life™ as the most recent copy of your Will.

What are the checklists in the app?

There are two checklists in MyBio.life™. They are for the Messenger to check everything that needs to completed after your passing to ensure they have carried out your wishes.

Can I access the app through the Mybio.life website?

The app is only accessed through the Apple store and Google play, it is not downloaded through the website.

Can my information or uploaded documents be lost if for example I lose my phone?

All data is continuously backed up to Firebase so everything can be recovered on another device with your MyBio.life™ account.

I'm having trouble downloading the MyBio.life app, what do I do?

Firstly, please check your connected to Wifi or the internet. Depending on your device please follow the link to the App Store or Google Play store.
